Jewelry Of The Day - Rhinestones And Rock Crystal

Hi Everyone!

It is so good to be back talking to you all again. Finally my tedious computer issues are over. LOL!

These are the three pieces of simple jewelry I wore today. Earrings: clear beads on silver wire, necklace: a big single rhinestone pendant on a silver chain that I got a New York Company and bracelet: a chunky but smooth polished rock crystal piece from Black Market Minerals in Myrtle Beach, SC.

I love going to Black Market Minerals when I visit the beach. The store is full of jewelry made from all kinds of stones and lots of loose stones for display, jewelry making or collecting. The location I visited was in BareFoot Landing.

Necklace of the Day - Rhinestone and Three Pearl Flower Choker

This rhinestone and stimulated pearl necklace is a perfect example of how I defy all style or trend rules and wear my "evening or dressy" occasion sparkly jewelry everyday. I do NOT care what people think. Rhinestones are so fun, bright and happy that I don't want to have to wait for the dark of night or a special dress up event to take them out.

If I bought something, I need to use it. When it is just sitting in a drawer out of sight not being used, this is a waste of very precious money. My jewelry collection allows me to make the exact same top and bottom completely different every time because I will wear a different sparkly accessory.

My costume jewelry collection allows me to express myself. Whatever mood I'm in or whatever color I want to accent in my outfit, a have fun searching my stash for just the right bauble. I don't have a lot of clothes but having lots of jewelry choices makes me feel like I have an almost infinite wardrobe.

Do you have a favorite piece of sparkly costume jewelry that you wear during daytime?

Forever 21 Mirror Compact

This is a detail shot of a Forever 21 mirror compact

I was at www.forever21.com standing in line and I saw this mirror compact. It has a type of black enameled surface with a rhinestoned flower in the middle. Inside it has 2 mirrors - one regular and one that magnifies. It was very inexpensive and the only one left. Of course it the only one left because it was broken - one of the mirrors was loose. A little E 6000 glue fixed up right up no problem. It reminds me so much of those gorgeous Art Deco powder compacts.

When I see an expensive clothing item or accessory, I will use the inspiration to find something as similar as I can within my price range. This is a big reason why I don't get jealous of people who have expensive things. Thankfully, I am able to completely enjoy my much less expensive item that is in the spirit of the inspiration of the more expensive antique or designer item.
