Josh Thompson Pictures - Dogwood Festival Concert

This was the stage setup before the concert. I love looking at all the equipment and instruments on stage before the bands come out to play.

The crowd before the concert began. It was not a lot of people in the beginning but the number of people increased later that night.

It was a gorgeous beautiful warm blue sky day. Perfect weather for an outdoor concert.

The opening band was Erin Nenni Band. Erin was a very good vocalist and had lots of great stage presence. The guitarist Scott was amazing! I will post more pics of this band in another post.

This guys helping set up the equipment are the actual members of the Josh Thompson Band. I did  not     know this. LOL! I thought they were apart of the stage crew. Behold my surprise when they walked out on the stage with Josh.

This is the bassist of the band tuning Josh's guitar. This instrument was so beautiful to see in person.

The awesome lead guitarist. I was very impressed with how he played. The entire band were very good musicians. They had a good time on stage and really had fun playing to the crowd.

I lucked up and happened to get a front row (or piece of pavement) right directly in front of Josh Thompson. Not even being a huge fan of country music, I really liked this band and their performance.

The bassist had a very unique style of strutting around the stage but really held down the bass line. Fun to watch him play. Lots of personality.

Another guitarist in the band. It was awesome to watch him play both of his instruments.

More pictures to come very soon!

I had a wonderful time and they are an amazing band.

More Photos from the 2014 Dogwood Festival

I loved this ride. It was some kind of children take off their shoes and jump and slide down kinda ride.
The first set of photos I posted on this blog 2014 Dogwood Festival are here.

These pictures do not do this inflated alligator or crocodile ride justice. It was HUGE. So cool to look at.

Hilarious! Dude in a moving van suit. This was an advertisement for a local moving company. Funny and cute. The legs and arms make me want to laugh. There were these two big burly guys walking around with him (or it). Everyone wanted to take a picture with the cute moving van on legs.

The stage at Festival Park
How they got the water to float these plastic tube things in, I wish I knew. I loved looking at he beautiful colors of this ride. I don't like actually going on carnival rides but I love looking at them.

An attendant told me it takes about a half hour to fully inflate one of these bouncy rides. It was located on the grassy area in from of the stage at Festival Park.

People watching students from a local music school (Cape Fear Music Center) play on stage. I was really impressed with how well the kids could play their instruments. They had a lot of courage to get up in front of everyone and to sing or play. It was inspiring.

These people were doing some type of group dance to some catchy song I never heard before. Loved watching all kinds of people dancing together.

    Downtown Fayetteville, NC

The amusement park had just closed and I ran over to take a couple of pictures of the rides. Without the people walking around, the rides actually look a bit scary or sad. It think I was thinking to much of the abandoned carnival The Penguin lived in in the Batman movie.

One of the more beautiful rides. This carousel had bright colors and a playful design.

Everyone seemed to have a wonderful time. I had not attended this festival in many years and I really    enjoyed myself. People watching was a big part of the fun.

I fell in love with the design of this pizza vendor food stand. The city skyline lights lit up at night were amazing to see. I don't know if the pizza itself was any good.

There wasn't as many people in attendance on the third day. There also were the vendors selling art, wine, car show, and crafts on Hay Street just a short walk from Festival Park. I definitely want to attend next year.
I hope you enjoyed looking at these photos from the Dogwood Festival held every year in Fayetteville, NC.

Please comment down below and tell me what you thought of the festival.

Thanks for reading!

Dogwood Festival - Music, Inspiration and Motivation

I attended all three days of the annual Dogwood Festival yesterday. The funny thing is it all happened by accident. Everyday I make sure I get out and see new things. While going to one place, I noticed the festival was setting up. Unlike past years when I didn't think it would be interesting, I decided to just go and explore.

Wow. I had the best time I have had in a really long time. Listening to live music had been such a huge part of my life for many years and for a long time I had not been pursuing that passion. Stepping out of my comfort zone, I decided to talk to people and ask questions. Being shy will limit your life. I learned this the very hard way.

Speaking to the right people, I was able to find out the details of  the festival. As a result I saw (for free) a lot of live music: The Marshall Tucker Band and a couple of really good cover bands. Funny thing, the drummer for one of the bands (Outcry) looks just like Jerry Cantrell from Alice in Chains when he was younger. I had some fan girl loving guys with long hair moments. LOL!

I'm going to write another post or two about what I learned about myself, why exercise is even more important to helping you do what you want to do., and how living your passion is truly living life to the fullest.

Stay tuned for more to come.
