Calendar Haul Part 2 - Desktop from Dollar Tree

This calendar haul features the desktop calendars I purchased for a dollar each at the Dollar Tree store.

The full length view of the calendar use to write my work schedule, bills due dates , etc. located in my home office.

Side panel view of a full year calendar.

Both calendarsi are distributed by Bendon Publishing International  1-888-5-BENDON

I love the pretty design of the swirling flowers and the bright happy colors. I use this calendar for scheduling blog tasks and planning. I usually write in my bedroom so this is on a desk in there

Both calendars are a little smaller than the normal office desk size found in office supply stores. But they are a good value and will do what I need them to do. You cannot beat a dollar item that will last a whole year.

Thank you for reading my post !

What If I Had Waited "Until"

I've been doing a lot of thinking about how to live life in a more positive and more productive way.

One thing that has definitely made a difference is to stop waiting "until".

"I will not go to the beach until I can stay at a fancy hotel."

"I will not start a blog until I have that cool Canon camera the beauty gurus seem to all have."

"I will not do this or that until the perfect moment happens"

This is the perfect recipe to how to completely waste your life. Just do it right now with what you have available. Be resourceful. Be creative. Be flexible.

I don't have the best camera and have been plaqued with annoying computer problems but I have decided to not allow that to stop me from blogging.

Are you waiting for someone to give you permission or their approval? Give yourself permission to go after your dreams and goals.

Right before my recent beach trip, there was a series of obstacles and disappointments, while none of them serious, they almost made me want to cancel my longawaited trip.

I sat down gathered my anxious thoughts, stepped out on faith and went on my trip.

Waiting "until" would have made me miss out on one of the best beach vacations I have ever had.

Don't live in fear. Have an attitude of perservence. You are smart enough to think of a solution that will keep you moving forward.

Tomorrow it will be 2015 - a brand new year. Please don't hinder your positive progress by waiting around doing nothing "until".

Thanks for reading!

Fall Is About Change - Like It Or Not

To be very honest, I do not like Fall and Winter at all.

My time of year is definitely Spring and Summer. Warm temperatures, green leaves and flowers make me happy, calm, creative and full of energy all at once. I thrive in bright sunshine.

Cold weather chills me to the bone. I have always hated being cold. Not a fan of the dark either. Fall back to the dark and cold is what turning back the clocks is to me. It gets dark way too early in the evenings.

But I decided to do things a lot different this year.

For the first time in my life, I decided the only way to get through these coming cold and dreary months is to completely NOT CARE. Yes, I have decided that the only way to deal with the half of the year that can make me depressed, is to just ignore the chilly temperatures. Warm mind over cold temperatures.

I will not allow myself to focus on the discomfort and the lack of sunshine but I will make sure I am constantly busy and productive. The cold seasons make me want to just hid in my house under the covers in my bed in my room and watch DVDs or videos on my computer. But I would get mad and guilty at myself for not getting anything down to get closer to reaching my goals.

This year I am determined to have a happy positive holiday season. I also am going to get back on track with healthy eating and exercising too.

No more head under the covers wishing for Spring to hurry up and get here this year. Dreading the cold months made me waste precious time and caused me a lot of stress. This lifelong bad habit will now come to an end.

Time is too valuable to waste. I will appreciate every cold day and have as much fun as I can. Life is too short to not be lived fully.

Thanks Hey Claire for the Tip

These are my artist tools and supplies for today.

After looking at a picture posted on Hey Claire's instagram which featured  random items neatly organized in a square formation, I got inspired. I love organization but I have to be on constant guard not to let the clutter that comes with being an artist and writer take over. When things are organized and easy to reach for, this creates such a sense of calm and focus for me. Truth be told, I have been very bad at just putting everything into a pile then just working from that pile. This has seemed like a very good idea. One big pile will not take up much space but every time I need something, I've got to upset the balance of the messy small mountain.

Today I decided I would try the new organizational system of neatly putting everything on the floor spaced out in a square. What a huge difference in productivity. I was able to very quickly complete several tasks. Also seeing everything, made me aware of concentrating on the present task because I could see the next task that was waiting for me.

Only organization geeks will really get this post. I'm tired of wasting time looking for what I need. I've just started my blog and it is a LOT more work than I ever imaged it would be. But I LOVE blogging. It's funny how a photo on my twitter feed inspired me to get a lot more done in my life. Thanks Claire.

How do you organize your artist materials?
