Earrings of the Day - Aeropostale Chandelier Style

I love chandelier style earrings. These Aerpostale are definitely sparkly statement pieces for your ears. Some prefer to save this type of bold style of earrings for evening wear or dressy occasions. I throw caution to the wind when I accessorize and wear any type of jewelry I own anytime I want to. LOL!

The simple lightweight plastic beads surrounded by the pale gold-tone setting with french wire hooks put these earrings in my more "classic" category of my jewelry collection. They go with every single thing in my wardrobe whether dressed up or very casual. I am the kind of girl to wear these earrings out on a date and also wear them with a sweatshirt while running errands. I try to not let my vast "faux bling" collection gather dust and instead be well used often.

My attitude of not restricting myself when it come to what and when I wear my costume jewelry pieces comes from having such a huge varied collection. I don't want to have wasted time and definitely not my money therefore I make a point of wearing something different everyday.

This is an extreme close up view courtesy of my Canon Poweshot A2300 HD that I got at a pawn shop for $20 something dollars. It is a very easy to use point and shoot camera. The A2300 HD is an older Canon model but I also brought the more recent Canon Powershot ELPH 170IS camera.

Now we get to the  markdown sales price part of my blog post. I purchased the earrings for $2.99 with an extra percentage off. A very small price for a very pretty piece of fun jewelry.

The earrings from the back. Very simple. I was impressed with the quality of the earring: no obvious glue showing, assembled very well with decent materials. I love very inexpensive jewelry but I really hate bad quality and poorly made costume jewelry.

No I would not pay $11.00 the regular price for these earrings. I am always shocked at the markup on the prices of costume jewelry. It is totally worth it to wait patiently for things to go on sale.

You might not be able to find these exact pair of earrings at Aeropostale but you might find something similar.

Here is a post about a pair of chandelier earrings from Express.

Earrings of The Day - Indian Inspired Burnished Gold Openwork

These gorgeous earrings are my latest purchase from Versona Accessories. I love that store. It feels like I am going to accessory heaven when I walk into the door.

The design reminds me of the openwork intricate jewelry you would find in India. The motif could be either a stylized star or ornate flower.

I paid only $1.99 for these "go with every single thing" in my wardrobe earrings. Versona not only has a huge variety of different styles of accessories and clothing but the prices are very reasonable and there are always very good markdowns.

Earrings Of The Day - Banana Republic Gold Circle Rhinestone Studs

I got a great deal on my very first pair of Banana Republic Earrings. They were regular prices at $16.99 marked down to $4.97 and the sale was 50% and another 15% off. Location was the Banana Republic Factory Outlet store at Carolina Premium Outlets in Smithfield, NC.

The reason they were marked down so low was because the backs were missing. I definitely didn't have problem with that because I have lots of earring backs at home.

Very simply designed with pave rhinestones in a gold tone setting. This picture does not show just how sparkly the stones are.  I will be able to get a lot of wear out of these classic earrings over the years.

I really like the Banana Republic Factory Outlet store. The post about the T shirts I got will be coming up very soon. The best time to go to the outlet stores in at the end of the season when everyone is having their huge clearance sales.

Years ago I go a parachute material purse from the Banana Republic Outlet store that I wore for many years until it finally fell apart. I was hoping to find a similar bag but no luck. The BR store is definitely worth the 45 minute drive but honestly the other stores do not have low prices in my opinion.

Check out the Banana Republic Factory Outlet website.

The background paper I photographed the earrings on is from a memo pad I got from TJ Maxx a while back. Love the printed design.

Earrings Of The Day - Mint Green Chandelier - Forever 21

I love these Forever 21 earrings I got on clearance for the $1.99. regular price is $6.80.  This photo does not show clearly the subtle pale mint green with a hint of tiny gold dust. The setting and findings are gold tone.

It is so much fun to find costume jewelry that looks more expensive than it is. The earrings are made of a lightweight but good quality plastic material. The style of these earrings is chandelier so they can be worn with more dressed up outfits.

Earrings Of The Day - Indian Inspired Brass Star And Moon

Love the simplicity of these lightweight brass metal earrings. The delicate linework in the metal adds such detail and interest to this piece. I have had them for ages - notice the fishhooks clasps are different. LOL! They have been loved very much.

These earrings are in the casual category of my jewelry collection. I would throw these on easily with jeans or shorts and a simple top then head out the door.

Indian jewelry is some of the most beautifully crafted jewelry I have ever seen. Intricately crafted and colorful. My goal is to own as many pieces of Indian and Indian inspired pieces as possible.

Easy DIY Bulletin Board Earring Holder

This DIY is super easy. All you need is a bulletin board, pushins and magnets. This bulletin board has two sides to it. One side is cork for push pins and the other side is metal for the magnets. Having the earrings out on display makes it easy for me to quickly grab a pair of earrings to match my outfit and coordinate with necklaces and bracelets.

I didn't really organize the earring on this board but I love how I'm able to see what I have at a glance. I made my own earrings cards with paper and cardboard squares. The earrings are attached to the board with the pushpins and the magnets. My dream would be to find a huge wall length bulletin board and display my jewelry collection on it. Or glass display cases like at a jewelry store but this is very expensive and would take up a long of space.

Here my wonderful jumble of earrings. I am able to wear them a lot more often since displaying them on this board. When they were hidden in a several different jewelry boxes, I couldn't see what I have. The earring display board can be set up on a dresser or table or hung up on the wall. This kind of display will not take up a lot of room. I think I will organize this earring collection by gold, silver and color in the near future.

Necklace and DIY Earrings of the Day Pale Blue Glass Beads

Vintage pal blue with white marbling necklace and DIY earrings

This necklace is one of my favorites because of the beautiful pale blue sky with white clouds colored glass beads. I love glass bead necklaces. I think glass beads are a lot better quality and color than plastic beads. Because the beads are heavy, I can feel the weight of this piece when I wear it. A sparkle of light reflection is another attribute of glass beads.

This necklace is vintage. The bad thing about vintage necklaces is the string that is holds the beads can deteriorate over time. One day, the string broke. I was able to not loose any of these precious beads so that was a good thing. I restrung the necklace and decided I can make a pair of matching earrings. It was a simple matter of winding gold wire around and through the beads and attaching a french wire. Instant necklace set.

Earrings of the Day - Silver Feather Hoops

Silvertone feather earrings

These costume jewelry earrings are very different from most earrings in my collection. They are very big and very long. They add a kind of airy hippy street vibe to my outfits. The earrings are relatively comfortable expect when they brush my shoulder - they are that long. Everyone remember the feather earring trend not too long ago? Maybe these were inspired by that trend but I think they are simple in design enough to be in style a little while longer.

Thankfully, I don't let fashion trends rule my life. I have lived long enough to see things completely ridiculed by the fashion press only to come by with open arms a couple of years later. I guess their motto is "Listen to what I tell you to buy today and make sure you forget I told you not to buy it a couple of years ago".
